MEDICINAL HERB WORKSHOP

'Learn how to make your own safe and effective herbal remedies'

Many common ailments can be safely treated at home, using wild or cultivated herbs. We can also boost our immune systems and fight infection by including herbs in our diet. This workshop will teach you how to make your own safe and effective herbal remedies and how to incorporate beneficial herbs into your everyday cooking. Participants will leave with enough knowledge and confidence to start using herbal remedies immediately to treat many conditions.

Correct identification is vital when using wild plants for culinary or medicinal purposes. The morning session of this workshop takes place at The Herb Garden, a certified organic specialist herb nursery, where you will learn how to safely identify wild and cultivated medicinal herbs.

The identification session will be followed by a practical demonstration on making base herbal preparations, ie. infusions, decoctions, oils, tinctures and cough syrups. Once you learn these basic skills, you will then learn which herbs to use to treat specific ailments. Participants will receive detailed notes on the topics covered in the workshop.A
